Overview
Mowgli's Run is a 3rd person infinite runner built in Unity. In this game we were tasked with creating an engaging game contained in scope ready within a launch window that would line up with the release of Disney's movie The Jungle Book.
Building off and existing framework we were able to complete development on time and up to Disney standards.
For this game I wrote the GDD, defined environment chunk running paths, setup obstacles on the environment chunks, place cinematic camera triggers, animate simple camera moves to give the player a clear line of sight on upcoming obstacles and defined QTE events to be implemented in the game during key moments of play.
Responsibilities:
- Technical Documentation: RFP & GDD
- Level Design
- Laying out branching player paths
- Setting up and tweaking player path points on environment chunks so that the player character looked like he was running on the environment art and not above or below it
- Setting up and place obstacles
- Tuning/balancing gameplay for desired difficulty using custom tools that allowed me to define how many obstacles should spawn based on the amount of time the player ran through each environment
- Animating simple camera moves that when triggered would give the player a clear line of sight on upcoming obstacles
- Mocking up QTE event sequences for animator and engineers to implement in the game.
